The Retina is the keyword in today’s technology world. It started with iPad Retina display. Now other brand tablets too are in the race to offer more resolution than what Apple is offering in its big-sized iPad tablets.
Now, isn’t Apple too need to be similarly cautious with its mini iPad?
NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim said, “We should see the start of mass production of the panels in June or July.”
He added the Retina display will be supplied by big manufacturers such as LG Display. Well, Samsung will not be supplying.
Retina iPad Mini to sport 7.9-inch screen providing a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, which will roughly give similar PPI to what we have seen on the iPhone 5 Retina screen. If this is true then it will be the highest densities to date for a tablet.
In the pipeline with similar high resolutions are updated Amazon Kindle Fire of 7-inch as well as 8.9-inch. The two will carry a PPI of more than 300.
